Context

Featuring a combination of both Catalogue and Custom products, this project saw the implementation of a cohesive suite that seamlessly blended into the surrounding environment. Precast Drape Concrete Benches were customised to suit the lengths and angles of the site, allowing them to form portions of the retaining walls. Additionally, each precast module was fitted with concealed lighting to help with night time activation of the area.
Accompanying amenities including the Flight Drinking Fountain and Bin Enclosures, along with illuminated Sit Bollards and Bike Racks.

Opportunities

A key aspect of the project was the inclusion of ‘Mary’s Bar’ in celebration of Mary Barry and the Commercial Hotel that once stood in the area. The completely custom bar setting features minimalist column frames and precast concrete tops finished to match the surrounding furniture. It’s cantilevered portion offers wheelchair access, while also becoming a defining feature of the design.
As a finishing touch and entry point to the square, an illuminated custom Entry Sign was supplied that consisted of a precast concrete plinth and powder coated steel signage wrapping the leading edge.
