Story
Sanctuary Cove is a resort-style master-planned community located on Queensland’s Gold Coast. This custom furniture suite was developed specifically for the Mariners Village, which features a marina catering for a variety of vessels. The Village is a central area of the resort for speciality shops, fashion boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants.
Fabricated from folded steel combined with white Corian, the Marine series of furniture is robust while maintaining a visually minimal and light design aesthetic. Inspired by the forms of boating and sailing vessels, the furniture makes direct reference to the details of ships decks and boat moorings. The range included a variety of seating elements, bins enclosures and bicycle racks that met both user accessibility and maintenance requirements.
All necessary site analysis, product feasibility studies, prototyping and technical documentation were also undertaken by Street & Garden studio during the various design and manufacturing phases of the project.
