Gem Planters – 2013
Fabricated from GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete), the Gem range exemplifies Street & Garden’s new directions in concrete. With forms inspired by the facets of a cut gemstone, the main focus of the design was to increase efficiencies within the fabrication process and create a product that works on both sloping and flat ground surfaces.
UQ | Dutton Park Parklands – 2006
Designed in conjunction with Wilson Architects the furniture for the Green Bridge development was intended to be a linking element between the University of Queensland site and the Dutton Park council parklands.
Maleny Township – 2009
While the Maleny area is rapidly expanding it continues to support a culturally alternative community. In keeping with the themes of traditional craft arts and with forms inspired by the rural context of the location, the furniture features shaped timber that has been combined with folded steel components. This suite includes a variety of backrest bench seats, backless benches, platform benches, and table settings.
↑ Street & Garden Furniture Co. was established in 1991, when company director David Shaw applied his strong design principles to street furniture. His vision was to develop products which complement community attitudes and the existing built environment. Our Classic range reflects this attitude.
↑ Specialists in urban design and street furniture, S&Gs industrial designers work in collaboration with architects, landscape architects and designers to develop products that cohesively link with client project goals. This catalogue of designs recognises the need for furniture with a 'contemporary' functionality and visual aesthetic.
